on Monday, July 21 in Beverly Hills to speak with the press about
the series at the 2008 Television Critics Association Press Tour.

Knight Rider Pilot Movie DVD After All TVShowsOnDVD.com
has revealed that the Knight Rider pilot movie DVD release
has been canceled.
The
pilot will instead be part of a Season 1 DVD release, which means
we could have another year to wait before we have a DVD set.

Casting
News!
Yancey Arias of Kingpin fame will be playing
a recurring character on Knight Rider and the name of said
character has now been revealed.
Arias
will be playing Alex Torres (no relation to the character
from Head Of The Class).
In
other casting news, Mark Adair-Rios (NYPD Blue, Terminator:
The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will be playing Jay Hunt
in the series' first new episode, "A Knight In Shining Armor,"
and Jeffrey Pierce (Charlie Jade, Fear Itself) will
be playing Ryan Arrow in episode two, "Knight Fever."

Knight
Rider Comic-Con Panel Confirmed! Knight Rider will be featured in a panel at
the Comic-Con International in San Diego, which has become quite
the venue for premiering new entertainment-related product.
The
KR panel will be held at 11:45am on Thursday morning,
July 24.

Information In TV Guide! TV Guide's Sci-Fi Preview issue (hitting subscriber
mailboxes today and newsstands this week) features some new information
about the ongoing new Knight Rider series.
Pilot
Director Revealed
David Solomon will be directing the first new episode
of Knight Rider which will air September 24 on NBC. Previous
directing credits for Mr. Solomon include Buffy the Vampire
Slayer, Firefly, Las Vegas, and Chuck; he is also directing
for Joss Whedon's new television series, Dollhouse.
BSG's
Paul Campbell As Knight Industries' New Tech? The
Hollywood Reporter is saying that Paul Campbell (Battlestar
Galactica) has joined the cast of Knight Rider as
the new head research tech of Knight Industries. We are assuming
this is the "Billy"
role that they have been casting.
Internet-savvy
viewers might remember Campbell as one of the two stars of Nobody's
Watching, which could very well be the best sitcom that never
aired. Either way, if this news is true, Knight Rider has
picked up a talented actor!

Caught Up On The Original Knight Rider... To better prepare yourself for the new show, you might
want to read up a little on the old - because who knows what information
from the original series might resurface under the able eye of
new showrunner Gary Scott Thompson.
Knight
Rider Legacy: The Unofficial Guide To The Knight Rider Universe,
published a few years ago, is the best look at the old series,
with a comprehensive episode guide and interviews with cast and
crew. Even a die-hard Knight Rider fan is prone to reading something
that they had never learned before.
Bruce
Davison Talks New Knight
Bruce Davison recently told the Los Angeles Daily News
that he is excited to be doing more Knight Rider.
"I
get to be dad and I get to be the inventor and sort of be right
in the middle of a lot of it," he told the paper. Davison
also promises "a lot of new stuff" for the series return.
"Its
going to be a lot of fun which is what were looking forward
to more than anything. KITTs back and hes bad!"

Bruening Talks About The Knight Rider Regular Series The TV Addict has posted a video interview with
Justin Bruening discussing the new regular series of Knight
Rider, where the actor does reveal some changes may be forthcoming.

Knight
Rider Timeslot: Wednesdays at 8PM NBC is relying on a Knight to kick off their
Wednesday night schedule this Fall, it has been announced today.
And if that's not enough - they are planning on "encoring"
episodes on Saturday nights in case you missed it the first time
around!
Their
fall schedule could be subject to change, but hey - Knight
Rider's on it, as is Heroes, so we're happy. Stay tuned
for what will hopefully be MORE good news!
Knight
Rider Has A Showrunner Las Vegas creator and executive producer Gary
Scott Thompson is the new leading force behind team Knight
Rider.
Thompson,
whose previous credits also include The Fast and the Furious,
will be working alongside executive producers Doug Liman and Dave
Bartis as well as writer-producer Dave Andron, who wrote the pilot
and will continue to write for the series.
Matt
Pyken, also of Las Vegas, is joining the show as an executive
producer.
It
is thought that Knight Rider may take a Friday spot as
Las Vegas had in the past. (UPDATE: The show will be

Rider Is Given An Episodic Order In news that should surprise no one, NBC is moving
forward with Knight Rider as a regular series.
Variety
is reporting that "the project has been given an episodic
order and has been mentioned as a contender for a Friday night
timeslot" - most likely Fridays at 9PM.

New Editorial: Ten Things I'd Like To See From A New NBC Knight
Rider The
Knight Rider pilot movie did well, and plans are probably
afoot for a regular series to come this Fall.

like to see from an ongoing Knight Rider series...

Hoff "Did It For The Fans" Original
Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff mentioned the
new KR pilot on his
official website.
"I'm
really excited about the return of Knight Rider to television,"
Hasselhoff said. "It
was a blast from the past and I did it for you, my fans."
At
the end of this message, Hasselhoff told his fans to let NBC know
they want to see more of Knight Rider and "The Hoff"
by visiting
NBC's website and letting them know. Does this mean Hasselhoff
would be willing to do more Knight Rider? Let's hope so....
